The weather outside might be frightful, but there is no need to hide inside! There are still plenty of fun things to do in St. Louis with the kids, even when the weather isn’t ideal. Here are a few things that come to mind:
Ice skating at Steinberg Ice Rink or Shaw Park Ice Rink. Steinberg Ice Rink in Forest Park is a seasonal favorite and the largest ice skating rink in the Midwest will be open through February. The Shaw Park Ice Rink offers views of the downtown Clayton skyline.
A life sized Tyrannosaurus Rex is on display at the Saint Louis Science Center, Catch a 3D film at the four-story Omnimax Theater and explore outer space at the Planetarium.
The Magic House is an interactive children’s museum that encourages children to experiment combining education and fun in all activities!
The City Museum is a well-kept secret that has recently been awarded national and even international acclaim. Now, celebrities passing through St. Louis regularly make it a deliberate stop. City Museum is so named because it is actually constructed of the stuff of the city: tile, bricks, chimneys, construction equipment, bridges, and even two airplanes. Winter is the perfect time to visit and focus on the indoor attractions, art, and the World Aquarium.
