Ice Skating at Forest Park 

Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park is one of the largest outdoor ice skating rinks in the Midwest where families can come and skate regardless of the weather. Winterfest Ice Rink

The Winterfest Ice Rink offers skaters one of the best views of St. Louis! Perched in the heart of the city, the rink overlooks the Arch and Capitol Building. While you can pay to rent skates, admission to the rink itself is free. The Winterfest Ice Rink also hosts a variety of family events including Thursday character nights, winter tournaments, and theme nights. Winter Celebration at the Art Museum

The St. Louis Art Museum is hosting a weekend-long event December 8-9 where families can come in and learn about holiday traditions around the world. The Polar Express Ride 

Based off the popular book and movie, Union Station offers families the chance the experience the magic of The Polar Express for themselves! Passengers board real trains to take off on a trip to the North Pole to meet Santa. On the way, they’re treated to carols, hot chocolate and cookies, and a reading of the classic book. Wild Lights at the St. Louis Zoo

The St. Louis Zoo is treasured throughout the city for good reason! While it’s always a year-round delight for the entire family, after Thanksgiving, the zoo shines a little brighter thanks to its light display. With over one million lights, different animal displays, numerous fire pits, and winter crafts, children of all ages are sure to have a great time! Way of Lights

The Shrine at Our Lady of the Snow in Belleville hosts a light display every year covering its mile-and-a-half trail. While families can drive around and view the lights and famous nativity scene from the comfort of their own cars, there are also plenty of activities throughout including Lego displays and camel rides. Winter Wonderland at Tilles Park

Tilles Park hosts a yearly light display with millions of Christmas lights and various holiday scenes. While the park allows drive-throughs and walks throughout the week, on Saturdays, it offers carriage rides, giving you the perfect view of the spectacle. The Missouri Botanical Gardens becomes even more majestic with its annual Garden Glow every year.
